The Task Force primarily investigates fraudulent activity taking place within the Eastern District of Texas. If your fraudulent activity falls outside of the Eastern District of Texas, please contact a local, state, or federal law enforcement agency in that area.
We request that you file a police report in either the jurisdiction where you reside or the jurisdiction where the fraudulent activity occurred, before contacting The East Texas Identity Theft Task Force. If your complaint involves the U.S. Mail (examples: theft or false change of address), file a report with the U.S. Postal Inspection Service.
If you have a non-criminal complaint you may wish to file a complaint with your local Better Business Bureau. Click here for more information.
