The East Texas ID Theft Task Force was created with the mission of investigating and prosecuting identity theft schemes as well as credit card fraud, forgery, counterfeiting of cash, checks and/or money orders, mail fraud, mail theft, IRS-tax fraud, embezzlements, bank fraud, driver's license fraud and social security number fraud.
The Task Force primarily covers Collin, Denton, Grayson and Cooke counties, which are located in the Eastern Judicial District of Texas.
